Those who fail to learn from the past are doomed to repeat it, but that doesn't necessarily imply that learning from the past will prevent you from repeating it.

Learning from the past just allows me to make the same mistakes faster and with less hesitation since I already know the inevitable ending.

At least it make the cycle repeat faster.
