When people make fun of me for going to library school, it is usually something like, "you're going to graduate school to study the Dewey Decimal system?"

I can reply with something about how I am studying the organization, management, preservation, and dissemination of information at a school of library and information science. And try and throw in a bit about my document modeling class or similar classes. Maybe say something about XML semantics, just to make it clear.

Except this week.

This week I actually am studying the Dewey Decimal Classification System, and doing an "assignment" on it for my catalogging and classification class.

Fucking Melvil Dewey.
