Sometimes I think that it would be good for me to sit down and write testimonials for every one of my friends on social networking applications like Friendster (1) or Orkut. I haven't written a single one. It would be an exercise in trying to actually say nice things to people in an un-ironic way, something I'm not sure I really know how to do very well. It makes me very uncomfortable for some reason.

(Except that Friendster testimonials and the like are probably more used as advertisements for the person writing the testimonial.)

1. Friendster? Isn't it 2005? Nobody uses Friendster anymore.
