Last weekend the resident in my neighboring duplex moved out. She left a full garbage can and seven excess garbage bags on the lawn all weekend.

On Monday the garbagemen left all of it with a helpful note explaining they don't take excess garbage bags without proper stickers.

I informed my landlord who said he'd take care of it.

By the end of the week on Sunday I decided I didn't want seven bags of garbage on my lawn for another week and went to the grocery store to purchase these magical stickers.

They were $5 each. The clerk seemed incredulous that I'd even consider getting seven.

But I did.

Now, I like to think I'm at a point in my life where I can spend $35 to get trash taken away and not be bothered. But it bothered me a little. Just on general principles - whatever that means.

Because $5 to take a garbage bag is just stupid, right?

But I guess it's a small price to pay to not have to haul seven week and half old garbage bags in my car somewhere.
