Shopping Into the Apocalypse

It's jarring how different the consumer experience at Whole Foods is than the standard grocery stores.

Not just the product - but the lighting and atmosphere. It feels bright and lively. Every time I go into Safeway the flourescents and industrial tile remind me I'm killing myself with the prepackaged processed high fructose output of giant engines of commerce.

At Whole Foods the people don't seem as dead inside.

I don't know why I didn't shop at Whole Foods regularly until now.

I guess I didn't think I was worth it.
