It's official: The world makes no sense

I see things that make me say "what the fuck?" all the time. Not quite as often as Lewis Black does, but often. However, this fine Saturday night my web surfing has finally convinced me the world has gone mad. Or it is mad and I just haven't noticed.

The first is this whole "impeachment" thing. Ok, let me get this straight: the most powerful man on the planet, the guy who can just as casually pick up a phone and order a country nuked as I can order a pizza, is being impeached for obstructing justice and perjury in a matter related to a consensual sexual affair that was brought up as evidence to show a pattern of sexual harassment... in a sexual harassment case that was thrown out because it was meritless. Seriously, is this a joke? That isn't even prosecutable, let alone impeachable.

And two ancient staunch segragationist, racist bastards, Strom "Dixiecrats" Thurmond and Chief Justice William "my house's deed specifies it must be sold to caucassions only" Rehnquist are presiding. Craziness I tell you. (Read today's NY Times op-ed section for what I'm talking about.) Ok, but Washington has always been a little bit cooky.

But I was at musicvideos.com looking at their top 50 of 1998... and Vanilla Ice's new video is on there, Too Cold.

Clearly, there is no hope for this world.
