mocking the mockers so i don't have to

Proving that we really are in the Dark Ages, Neale has brought on David, since apparently coming up with two word links to weblogs was too taxing. Awww, poor, overworked Neale.

David then proceeds to link to a dozen or so weblogs that discuss that whole naspter thing with the simple "we know." (Which reminds me, what is this "naspter" thing I keep hearing so much about? It sounds complicated.)

So, as far as I can tell, David typed in "napster" to blogger search, and then just linked to them with "we know."

Normally, this sort of half-assed pseudo-weblog-logging, like all half-assed poorly done weblog-logging, demands a response from me. However, David's half-assed weblog-logging is still more than what I do these days, so I'm going to refrain from making a response.

Besides, this one is better -

Danielle, one of those linked to, responds -

Dear David, in your attempt to sound so very ..(well who knows what the point of trying to point out "we know" was for)... I hardly think that saying "we know" to my post was worth it. After all, I only believe that you knew one thing on the list of things I mentioned. Unless you were with me that night, which, I know you weren't. If your point was to prove that blogs post the same crap, over and over again. Well, then I just have one thing to say.. we know. It didn't take 10 links to prove that.
Of course, 5 months worths of links and I still haven't proved a damned thing. (Besides the obvious fact that I'm an idiot.)

fun with micropayments

Remember all that talk about paypal last month? Well, I've been thinking a lot about voluntary micropayments and what a great idea it is.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a little donate button so you could easily donate a quarter to an independent, commercial-free web site that made you smile? To support real art on the web, we need virtual coinslots on every page.

Little coinslots like on those vibrating beds at cheesy motels, where you put a little coin in the coinslot and the bed vibrates for a little while. What's so great is that we have the technology to do that right now.

Step 1: Insert coin. Insert a quarter, make webloglog shake, no joke.

Step 2: Because I'm lazy, you are on your honor to only press this amazing vibrate button if you actually inserted a coin first. Remember, liars will die a horrible death and rot in eternal hell.

Stop the presses! Important breaking news!

Weblogs are bad! blah blah blah!.....

"People used to link to sites they thought their visitors could appreciate. Blogs seem to have devolved, in the majority, to a high-tech web ring of sorts."
Old news, I know.

The mefi's scamper to the defense of the "genre". Snoozerama. I know.

Zachsmind -

"I AM a living example of crap on the Internet."
That's kind of like the sky doing a favor and letting everyone know it's blue.

Oh, never mind. There's no breaking news. Back to your regularly schedule lack of webloglog posts.

consumer whoredom

My Crazy Uncle Joe has them, as does mathowie, and soon every other weblogger will, and yes, I was jealous. I want webloglog t-shirts, but unfortunately, webloglog doesn't have, well, you know, a logo, graphics, a design - anything that would lend itself to being on a t-shirt.

Don't worry, I didn't let that stop me.

Webloglog T-Shirts.

Ironic? Post-ironic? Earnestly ironic? Or just really stylish? You be the judge.
